Watch the final of UKTV Food: Local Hero 2008!

Following two successful series, Local Food Heroes is back for the third year. Led by Gary Rhodes, UKTV Food has been scouring the length and breadth of the nation to find those businesses that help put great food on our plates.

The UKTV Local Food Hero Awards are a tribute to Britain’s independent food businesses and the public has been nominating, voting and rewarding their food heroes’ passion for providing great local food.

Voting has now closed and you can follow the final search for the winner by tuning into UKTV Food every weeknight at 9pm from Monday 17th November. The series will celebrate the strongest contenders from each region, and at the end of each episode, a regional winner will be selected based on the criteria set for the campaign.

In the nail-biting final on Friday November 28th at 10pm all ten regional winners will then battle it out for the honour of being crowned UKTV’s Local Food Hero 2008. One food hero will be awarded the highly coveted £40,000 prize to invest back into their business and transform lives – a dream wish come true.

All nominees are listed in the Local Food Hero directory on the UKTV Food website where you’ll find an interactive map, customer reviews, videos and images of food heroes in every corner of the UK.
